Zaha To Burn Past Dalot 🔥

Fouling Fullbacks & Young Goalscorers ⚽️

đź’° Punt: Marvelous Nakamba 2+ Fouls
đź“— Bookie: Betfair/Paddy Power
🎲 Odds: 2.70 (17/10)
⚽️ Game: Luton vs. Burnley

Zimbabwean international Nakamba is available at a marvellous price of 2.70 (17/10) to commit 2 or more fouls with Betfair/Paddy Power. It’s a bet that has landed in 5 consecutive Premier League appearances and I’m surprised that he’s still available at odds against. He’s made 12+ fouls and has completed the full 90 minutes in all 6 of Luton’s games so far. He has previous PL experience at Aston Villa where he was more of a squad player, averaging 1.3, 1.0 & 1.6 fouls per 90 in his 3 Premier League seasons with the Villains.

The midfielder is also averaging 4.3 tackles per game, recording 6 tackles in 3 straight EPL games. So, he’s no stranger to getting stuck in and doesn’t mind a midfield tussle or two. Let’s just hope Peter Bankes is happy to blow his whistle for a couple of slight infringements. Nakamba has a career average of 1.6 fouls per 90 & 5.3 attempted tackles per 90, with 3.7 of those tackles being successful.

đź’° Punt: Jake Young To Score Anytime
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 3.25 (9/4)
⚽️ Game: Notts County vs. Swindon

Despite sitting top of the pile after 10 games in their return to League 2 football, Notts County have conceded 19 goals, 8 of those in their last two outings. They now welcome the highest-scoring team in the division with the visit of Swindon who have netted 26 times already this campaign.

Jake Young has been their leading marksman so far, scoring 9 goals in 9 games. Although he has only scored in 4 different games, blanking on 5 occasions. Despite that, I feel the 3.25 (9/4) on offer for the Bradford loanee to bag against league-leaders Notts. County with Bet365 is an attractive price. I can’t see their manager Luke Edwards changing his style of play, which has given them so much success in recent seasons, despite mistakes made when trying to play out from the back. If they persist, this could lead to Swindon’s front three of Young, Daniel Kemp & Charlie Austin being gifted with goalscoring opportunities on several occasions.

đź’° Punt: Diogo Dalot 2+ Fouls
đź“— Bookie: Betfair/Paddy Power
🎲 Odds: 3.60 (13/5)
⚽️ Game: Man Utd vs. Galatasaray

It’s a bet that’s based around Wilfried Zaha being in the starting XI for the Turkish giants in all honesty. The Ivory Coast star is fouled 3.1 times on average per game across his career and if he lines up on Galatasaray’s left wing, the Portuguese full-back will have a busy night. Have a punt on Diogo Dalot to commit 2 or more fouls with Betfair/Paddy Power at odds of 3.60 (13/5).

Dalot vs. Zaha when starting right-back:

  • 22/05/22 - 3 tackles, 1 foul. Carded

  • 05/12/21 - 3 tackles, 3 fouls.

It’s more of a price play than anything but Dalot does struggle when facing more direct opponents who like to dribble as seen in the EFL Cup final last season when he struggled to contain Allan Saint-Maximin, the Manchester derby this time last year is another example when he wiped out Jack Grealish after about 30 seconds and received a yellow card. He’s available at 5.00 (4/1) with SkyBet to be shown a card if you prefer the card. I’ll probably back both for transparency!

đź’° Punt: Alistair Johnston To Be Carded
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 4.75 (15/4)
⚽️ Game: Celtic vs. Lazio

Canadian full-back Alistair Johnston can be quite rash with his decision-making and doesn’t mind a lunge into a challenge that gets him booked which did sway my thinking instead of backing him for a couple of fouls, although only Sky and William Hill have him priced up currently. This may change before kick-off and if the odds available with Betfair/Paddy Power are something closer to 7/4 I might have a bet. Might not either, who knows?!

Johnston has been booked 13 times in 89 career appearances that WhoScored has data available on which isn’t exactly a mind-blowing set of statistics. BUT… HE’S MARKING MATTIA ZACCAGNI!!

I’ve opted for him to be carded at 4.75 (15/4) with Bet365. But, the tackle prices of 2.75 (7/4) and 5.50 (9/2) available with SkyBet for 3 & 4 tackles respectively are nicely priced. He’s averaging 2.7 tackles per game for Celtic in the SPL so far this season, made 5 tackles away to Feyenoord in the first group game and has a career average of 1.8 tackles per game which increases to 2.0 tackles per 90 mins played.

đź’° Punt: Dan Burn 2+ Fouls
đź“— Bookie: Betfair/Paddy Power
🎲 Odds: 3.10 (21/10)
⚽️ Game: Newcastle vs PSG

Dan Burn Dancing GIF by Newcastle United Football Club

Gif by Newcastle_United on Giphy

Big Dan Burn only averages 1.1 fouls per 90 over his career. He’s playing PSG on Wednesday night though, if he starts left-back and is marking Ousmane Dembele he’s in for 90 minutes that’ll feel longer than a nightshift. Mbappe will probably see the shape-shifting lizard lining up left-back for the Toon and ask Dembele to swap wings at some point as well. Surely to God almighty above he makes a couple of fouls?! And pays for my extortionately priced tout ticket whilst he’s at it. He’s from Blyth you’ll never ever beat Dan Burn (without being fouled).
