Weekend Punts: 24th - 25th August

Torp Shots, Uche Goals & Ronald Tackles

šŸ’° Punt: Victor Torp Over 1.5 Shots & Victor Torp Over 2.5 Shots
šŸ“— Bookie: Bet365
šŸŽ² Odds: 3.40 (12/5) & 9.00 (8/1)
āš½ļø Game: Bristol City vs. Coventry

Victor Torp made 15 Championship appearances last season for Coventry since joining in the January transfer window. He averaged 1.9 shots per 90 minutes played, totalling 700 minutes of competitive action for the Sky Blues in the 23/24 campaign. Coventry gaffer Mark Robins has started in him in all 3 of their games this season, including the league cup victory against none other than Saturdayā€™s opponents.

Victor Torp has been a tad bipolar with his shooting to start the season:

  • Stoke - 0 shots, 63 minutes played

  • Bristol City - 1 shot, 62 minutes played

  • Oxford Utd - 5 shots, 72 minutes played

Historically, Torp averaged 2.5 shots per90 minutes played during his time at Kortrijk in Belgium. In 2022, Torp averaged 1.6 shots per game in the Eliteserien for Sarpsborg 08 whilst playing just 55 minutes on average. In 2023, his minutes increased to 83 minutes per game and he registered 2.7 shots per game.

The 3.40 (12/5) with Bet365 for Victor Torp to have over 1.5 shots is an appealing price and given how trigger happy the Danish midfielder is from range, the 9.00 (8/1) for him to have over 2.5 shots is also worth a punt.

šŸ’° Punt: Chrisantus Uche To Score Anytime & Chrisantus Uche To Score Two or More Goals
šŸ“— Bookie: Bet365
šŸŽ² Odds: 7.00 (6/1) & 67.00 (66/1)
āš½ļø Game: Getafe vs. Rayo Vallecano

Chrisantus Ucheā€™s Getafe debut was one of the feel good stories across the whole of Europeā€™s top five leagues as competitive domestic football made its welcome return last week. The 21 year old who was plying his trade in Spainā€™s 5th tier in the 22/23 season at Moralo CP before moving on to AD Ceuta FC in the third tier for the 23/24 campaign, Ceuta splashed out a whopping ā‚¬800 to sign the midfielder. Yep, eight-hundred quid!

Getafe have been down to the bare bones of their squad recently which resulted in manager Jose Bordalas deploying the Nigerian midfielder as a temporary centre forward at the San Mames in their 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao. The man mountain who stands at about 6ā€™4ā€ scored a bullet header from a Luis Milla corner in the second half to earn a point for his new side. Skip to 2:38 in the video below to see his debut goal in all of its glory.

Uche was all action despite playing out of position and led the line effectively, he committed 2 fouls, was fouled 4 times and the Nigerian Nunez was offside 4 times. Borja Mayoral looks set to miss out again through injury so he should keep his place in the XI.

Punts:

  • Chrisantus Uche To Score Anytime @ 7.00 (6/1) - Bet365

  • Chrisantus Uche To Score Two or More Goals @ 67.00 (66/1) - Bet365

He canā€™t wait to play against Kylian Mbappe at the Santiago Bernabeu, Juan Iglesias is his funniest teammate and Omar Alderete is in charge of the music in the dressing room. Also, heā€™s set himself a target of reaching 10 goals this season and he misses his mother! Letā€™s hope the goalscoring start to the season continuesā€¦
