Reds on the cards in Rome?

đź’° Punt: Nahuel Molina 2+ Fouls
đź“— Bookie: Betfair/Paddy Power
🎲 Odds: 4.00 (3/1)
⚽️ Game: Lazio vs. Atletico Madrid

While playing in Serie A for Udinese, Argentinian defender Nahuel Molina was booked and sent off in 2 of the 4 games he played against Lazio. This was without facing left-winger Mattia Zaccagni, one of the most fouled players in Europe’s top 5 leagues over the last few seasons and who he’ll be tasked with marking tonight. Wonder how Diego Simeone is planning to stop him…?

Punt: Nahuel Molina 2+ Fouls @ 4.00 (3/1) with Betfair/Paddy Power

Molina’s foul averages aren’t impressive, so I won’t bore you with them! The bet is purely based on his likely opponent.

Zaccagni has been fouled 444 times over his last 161 games since the 2015/16 season, on average he is fouled 2.8 times per game, increasing to 3.6 times per 90. The Italian winger is a lively character and is no stranger to a foul himself and often finds his name taken in the referee’s notebook.

Molina is best priced for a card at 6.00 (5/1) with William Hill which looks a decent bet if he is to start. If Azpilicueta starts in the right-wing back role instead, he’s also 6.00 (5/1) with SkyBet to be carded. Both look generously priced. I could make an argument for half the players on the pitch though to be fair… Pablo Barrios, Daichi Kamada, both teams to have a red card! When will it stop?

Fine, you’ve charmed me…

đź’° Punt: Aleksander Dragovic Over 38.5 Passes
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 7.00 (6/1)
⚽️ Game: Man City vs. Red Star Belgrade

This is one of those bets that can make you look like an absolute genius or mentally unstable. There’ll be no in-between.

Man City’s opponent centre-back passing totals so far this season:

  • Arsenal 45% possession - Gabriel (56) & Saliba (74)

  • Burnley 34% possession - O’Shea (56), Al-Dakhil (36) & Beyer (35)

  • Sevilla 26% possession - Gudelj (17) & Bade (26)

  • Newcastle 41% possession - Botman (60) & Schar (66)

  • Sheff Utd 21% possession - Ahmedhodzic (15) & Egan (16)

  • Fulham 32% possession - Ream (53) & Diop (39)

  • West Ham 32% possession - Zouma (29) & Aguerd (46)

Dragovic’s passing totals for Belgrade so far this season are:

52, 64*, 70, 87*, 83, 51 & 91.
* = didn’t play the full 90 minutes.

With the data available for 181 of his career games on WhoScored, the Austrian defender averages 50.8 passes per game, increasing to 61.3 passes per 90. He’s not playing Man City every week though, is he?

Placing a bet on the 7.00 (6/1) available for Aleksander Dragovic to have over 38.5 passes with Bet365 could well be the early signs that I’ve lost the plot, but…we’re gonna do it anywaaaaaay. Man City are about 1/20 to win and will have about 80% of the ball so keep it sensible, gamble responsibly and all that politically correct jazz.

đź’° Punt: Callum Paterson To Be Carded
đź“— Bookie: Betfair/Paddy Power
🎲 Odds: 4.33 (10/3)
⚽️ Game: Sheffield Wednesday vs. Middlesbrough

Callum Paterson has picked up 4 yellow cards so far in The Championship from only 6 appearances & 5 starts, his next yellow card will see him serve a suspension.

Callum Patterson is best priced at 4.33 (10/3) with Betfair/Paddy Power to be shown a card. The odds are decent enough for me to get involved, but if Isaiah Jones is to get a start on the left-hand side for 'Boro, it’s an even better bet. If Jones does start then the 16/1 double for the pair of them to be booked is worth a smaller bet with the same bookie.

Another couple of bets that caught my eye were Juan Delgado to have a shot with SkyBet at 1.91 (10/11) with SkyBet & Jeff Hendrick to be carded at 5.50 (9/2) with SkyBet. May be worth waiting for line-ups before placing any bets though.

  • Juan Delgado 1+ Shot @ 1.91 (10/11)

  • Juan Delgado 2+ Shots @ 6.00 (5/1)

  • Juan Delgado 3+ Shots @ 24.00 (23/1)

Averaging 1.3 shots per game across his first 6 games in England’s second tier.

He’s had 1 or more shots in 5/6 games.
He’s had 2 or more shots in 2/6 games.
He’s had 3 or more shots in 1/6 games.

đź’° Punt: Nathan Broadhead Anytime Goalscorer
đź“— Bookie: William Hill
🎲 Odds: 3.90 (29/10)
⚽️ Game: Southampton vs Ipswich

Nathan Broadhead is averaging 3.2 shots per game so far for the Tractor Boys this season, only Conor Chaplin (5.0) is having more efforts on goal than the Welsh international. Both Ipswich forwards have found the back of the net 3 times in the league.

Tonight they travel to a Southampton side who have conceded 16 times in the opening 6 games. They have conceded 4+ goals on 3 occasions and a side who are yet to keep a clean sheet under Russell Martin. We saw on Friday night how suspect The Saints are defensively and their inability to cope with Leicester’s pace on the break. I can see a similar outcome here and wouldn’t be surprised with Ipswich scoring a couple and/or taking the 3 points home with them.

Nathan Broadhead is best priced at 3.90 (29/10) to score anytime with William Hill and I think it’s well worth a bet against this Southampton side who have struggled to cope against teams playing with pace in transition.

Have a cheeky punt on Nathan Broadhead to score a hat-trick at 201.00 (200/1) with Betfair/Paddy Power as well!
