A Teessider, A Zimbabwean & A Brazilian Walk Into a Newsletter

Notts County v Southend - Tuesday 21st February. 19:45

Notts County continue to pile the pressure on big spenders Wrexham at the top of the National League and are making sure there’s no room for Deadpool F.C to slip up with 6 league wins on the spin. Macaulay Langstaff (50% of the deadliest duo Cleveland Schools U18’s has ever seen. Not sure what happened to his strike partner…) has 7 goals in those 6 consecutive victories, taking his tally for the season to 30 in 32 appearances. Bet365 have him priced at 2.00 (1/1) to continue his red hot goalscoring form. Another standout price in this game is Adam Chicksen to score anytime at 11.00 (10/1) Notts County manager Luke Williams has added goals to Chicksen’s game. The Zimbabwean had 4 league goals in his career before his new found goalscoring ability under Williams’ management. He’s scored 9 goals in 32 league games this season including 2 in his last 3. Well worth a punt at the price.

  • Recommended bets -
Adam Chicksen to score anytime @ 11.00 (10/1)
Macaulay Langstaff to score anytime @ 2.00 (1/1)

  • Bookie - Bet365 for both.

  • Confidence - Chicksen 1/3. Langstaff 3/3.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Napoli - Tuesday 21st February. 20:00

Napoli are arguably the most entertaining team in Europe’s top 5 leagues currently and they have the results to back it up, sitting 15 points clear at the top of Serie A on their way to a first league title since 1990. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s (Yes, I copy and pasted that) emergence this season has got hipsters twerking for likes across all social media platforms pretending they knew who he was when he was kicking a ball about in the streets of Georgia. He is mint though. The left sided forward loves to dribble with the ball and get at his opponent, averaging 1.7 successful dribbles and being fouled 1.4 times per game in Serie A over 19 appearances. Frankfurt should line up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and I'm hoping Lucas Tuta will be the right sided centre-back in the back 3. The Brazilian defender is averaging 1.2 fouls & 1.3 tackles per game in the Bundesliga this season with his tackle numbers increasing to 3.2 per game in his 5 UCL group stage appearances. Paddy Power/Betfair have him priced up at 2.00 (1/1) in the ‘Player To Commit 2 Or More Fouls’ market and SkyBet are the best priced bookie for a yellow card at 4.33 (10/3), PP/Betfair are next best priced for a card at 4.20 (16/5) and I wouldn’t put you off combining the fouls and card bet via Bet Builder for a 6.00 (5/1) shot if the little betting demons inside you so desire.

  • Recommended bet - Tuta to be shown a yellow card @ 4.33 (10/3)

  • Bookie - SkyBet

  • Confidence - 2/3.

#CheekyPunt

The Cheeky Punt of this newsletter will come in the Europa League clash between Manchester United and Barcelona on Thursday night. There were 36 match shots in the first leg with 18 for each side. Man United then followed this up in the Super Sunday clash with Leicester by conceding 19 shots to The Foxes and having 26 efforts on goal of their own.

Barcelona’s 18 shots in the first leg resulted in 14 goal kicks for Man United at the Camp Nou. Bet365 are offering 50/1 that lightning doesn’t strike twice and the feat isn’t repeated at Old Trafford. Banker!

Haha, but no seriously…

I think the bet does have a decent chance if the game pans out the way I’m expecting. Barcelona are quite short-handed in midfield with Gavi suspended, Pedri injured and Busquets just coming back from injury at the weekend as an unused substitute v Cadiz. Early United goal and we’re cooking on Cherry Diesel. Rashford makes it 2-0 just before half time and the 50/1 walks in at a canter. Off to Dino’s Cafe for a steak pie breakfast. Le Bosh.

  • #CheekyPunt - Over 17.5 shots in the match for Barcelona & Over 13.5 goal kicks in the match for Manchester United @ 51.00 (50/1)

  • Bookie - Bet365 via Bet Builder

  • Confidence - Printing money obviously. Pawn the fiancee’s engagement ring.

Keep fackin’ punting!
