17th -18th December: Christmas Cards in La Liga & The Prem

Round 2 for Valverde & Baena?

đź’° Punts:
Federico Valverde To Be Booked
Federico Valverde & Alex Baena To Be Booked
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 7.50 (13/2) & 17.00 (16/1)
⚽️ Game: Real Madrid vs. Villarreal

Federico Valverde only has 10 La Liga yellow cards in 154 league appearances for Real Madrid which probably explains the 13/2 on offer with 365 for him to get his name taken by the referee on Sunday evening.

What I don’t think the bookies have taken into account is the off-field incident that occurred after these two sides met back in April.

“After a match in April against Villareal, things hit rock bottom. Everyone knows the headlines. They know both sides of the “story.” I don’t want to bring up these ugly things again. All I want to say is this….

On a football pitch, you can call me almost anything, and it doesn’t bother me. I am Uruguayan, for God’s sake. But there are certain lines that you do not cross. Not as a footballer, but as another human being.

Speak about my family, and it’s not football anymore.

A line was crossed that day.”

The above is taken from Valverde’s article with The Players Tribune, which you can read by clicking here.

Valverde allegedly punched Baena after the match because the Villarreal player had said something untoward about his unborn son during the game. Round 2 on Sunday night? 🇪🇸🇺🇾🥊

đź’° Punts: Jannik Vestergaard To Have 1+ Shots On Target Outside The Box
đź“— Bookie: SkyBet
🎲 Odds: 17.00 (16/1)
⚽️ Game: Birmingham vs. Leicester

The Great Dane, big Jannik Vestergaard has had 14 shots for Leicester this season with 2 of those coming from outside of the box, both of those efforts from distance were free-kicks. Joining Lewis Dunk in the CB’s who take free-kicks club, a free-kick vs Bristol City was blocked and last game vs Millwall he had a free-kick that was saved. More of the same please!

Punt: Jannik Vestergaard To Have 1+ Shots On Target Outside The Box @ 17.00 (16/1) with SkyBet.

đź’° Punts: A Red Card In The Match
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 4.00 (3/1)
⚽️ Game: Sevilla vs. Getafe

Getafe are the most ill-disciplined side in La Liga with 63 yellows and 6 reds so far this term. Sevilla rank 4th in the same standings with 45 yellows and 3 reds.

Referee Juan Luis Pulido Santana is relatively new to La Liga itself showing 9 red cards in his 28 appointments. His 129 La Liga 2 appointments have seen him give 34 red cards in total. The head-to-head record between the sides isn’t exactly great but we’ve got a Sevilla side in free fall with Diogo Alonso on the verge of losing his job and they’re playing Getafe. Enough said!

Punt: A Red Card In The Match @ 4.00 (3/1) - Bet365.

If you have access to a BoyleSports account, it’s priced a touch bigger at 4.20 (16/5).

đź’° Punts: Alejandro Garnacho To Be Booked
Alejandro Garnacho & Trent Alexander-Arnold To Be Booked
đź“— Bookie: Bet365
🎲 Odds: 5.50 (9/2) & 23.00 (22/1)
⚽️ Game: Liverpool vs. Man Utd

Alejandro Garnacho is a bit of a knobhead, isn’t he? One of them players who you’d love if he was on your team but absolutely despise if he played for anyone else. The Clare Balding looking motherfucker!

With that being said, I fancy the Argentine to find his way into the book on Sunday one way or another. I doubt he’ll score so we can probably rule out the top off possibility, handbags with Trent? More than plausible…

Garnacho has 2 yellows in his last 6 EPL games, one for bouncing the ball in a show of dissent after not getting a decision his way vs Chelsea and for a foul vs Fulham. I can see him moaning at the ref for not getting soft fouls on Sunday and/or having a bit of fisticuffs with Trent. Trent’s 3 EPL yellow cards have came for time-wasting/delaying the restart and for dissent.

Sooo, Garnacho gets fouled, Trent kicks the ball away, Garnacho pushes Trent over. Both in the book! Bish, bash, bosh.

Punts:

  • Alejandro Garnacho To Be Booked @ 5.50 (9/2) - Bet365

  • Alejandro Garnacho & Trent Alexander-Arnold To Be Booked @ 23.00 (22/1) - Bet365

A few bigger prices in there, don’t go blowing the Christmas turkey money. Let’s try and get some stocking fillers paid for 🤞🏻
